One knows bringing a few like-minded people together
is one of the best ways to exchange useful tips and stories.
Why not reproduce this sort of information exchange via the web, for those who can not easily move about
given the presence of young children, or due to their geographic or cultural isolation?
We can prolong the exchange offline by helping to put like-minded individuals in touch
with each other.
We have a regularly evolving Editorial Committee made up of French speaking and Francophile parents
who try their best to provide a first response to questions, based
on their knowledge of the area.
They provide personal responses based on their experiences, not journalistic type
nor commercially oriented responses.
Subsequently, Frenchparents members can provide their own responses via the site, and many do so
so regularly as to become Activist members.See membership Options.
We welcome your contribution as a member of the
online Editorial Committee or as an Activist member. See below: Contributing.
We can therefore provide you with information that comes from others' experience, the best kind there is!
We still control the content on the site for responses that may seem commercially biased or schocking.
Our primary objective is to help you live your life as parent with an interest in the French
culture to the fullest, avoiding you the waste of time that comes with uncovering new territory,
as is the case when children come along.
We think globally but act locally!
In order to do this we seek to grow this network city by city, country by country,
with you and other members' participation and that of organizations and companies
interested in our entreprise.
Our network seeks to be wherever Francophiles and French speakers are around the world,
but we wish to be close to them, their preocupations and those that provide products and
services geared to their needs.
In fact it's rather easy to find general information on a country, its tax system, its school system,
or its cultural customs. But knowing where to find a good French class, how to plan a successful
trip to France, or Switzerland, with kids...?
These are questions that are tough to find an answer to if you don't benefit from someone
else's experience and don't have a lot of free time to investigate because children are present.
We think the Web is the medium that can bring people with different experiences together
so they can help each other out, online, without the contingencies of geography or time zones!
Frenchparents is the first network
made by and for French speaking and Francophile PARENTS in the US and beyond.
As the caregivers and educators of children, we have our own
responsibilities, possibilities and limitations that influence not only our caregiving but also our personal,
cultural and professional life. To be sent abroad one day is not as simple to manage with as without
children present.
To tell us about your special needs, please fill out our surveys.
It's up to us to help each other
so as to live more fully, more easily
and smartly with our children, with a
common interest in the French culture.
